Has anyone noticed a ton of myths missing from the PJO books? Like a prominent one that irks me:
If Artemis is older than Apollo, why does he call her 'little sis'? And why does Artemis only counter this by saying, 'we're twins' instead of 'I'm older'?

Kronos isn't evil, either. D: He's the god of time, a power-hungry idiot, and that's the lot.
Also, Atlas was turned into stone because some gods had pity on him! So how could he be the General in Titan's Curse?
And a manticore isn't even Greek...

Also, Chiron died, he gave up immortality after Heracles hit him with an arrow poisoned with Hydra blood, and the pain became to much to bare

Yeah, it was.
"Aeons ago the gods granted me my wish ... to remain immortal as long as I teach"
Something like that.

All of the gods seem calmer in the books than in the myths, and in the myths...I would call them crazy. I think it is because--half of the big myths are actually inapropriate (sp).

I think so ... maybe to make it more understandable and realistic for really young kids how read PJO? I don't think the little one's parents would approve very much of the real myth being thrown in their faces.

I dunno, I still recon the gods are pretty cannon compared to what I've seen on some Greek myth shows *couch* Class of the Titans *cough*

The myths not only had to be touched up a bit for younger audiences but also it must have been authors choice since he had to not only include certain and appropriate myths so that it counted as a Greek myth/fiction genre but also he had to add his own two cents to make it original and probably did not have much time to add so many myths even if that meant he had to leave some popular ones out.
