Okay, here's my PJO fic
I've got to apologize in advance that the first chapter doesn't have anything to do with PJO, it's in chapter two where the Greek mythology kicks in.
--
Title - I'm only Mortal
Summary - Colin is a mortal who can see through the mist. He’s got a severe case of foot-in-mouth disease, a major zit problem, and is currently in love with the daughter of a god. It’s not going well for Colin, He's just a mortal stuck in a world of monsters
Rating - 13 + - I think, I'm not sure on age ratings... it's rated T on fanfiction, and includes swearing -

Chapter 1
--
I tapped my fingers lightly on the keys, careful not to actually press any down, I didn’t want to get a whole lot of gobbledy gook come up on the screen, ruining the four words I had written already.
I had heard about writers block before, but had never experienced it.
God, writers block sucks.
Recently after my marks in English had skyrocketed up to A- I decided it might time to start writing down some of the stories that go through my head during Art lessons.
I never realized how hard it would actually be to write a story. It wasn’t like people made it out to be and I had read enough books to realize I need good convincing characters, a unique idea, and a good plot.
Want to hear what I had so far?
Hi my name is…
Yep, that’s it, Hi my name is... Crap! I didn’t even have a name yet for my main character!
Writing’s harder than I though…
Running a hand through my hair, a memory arrived.
“Writing should be an escape…”
‘An escape,” I mused, out loud. “I need an escape, my life’s pretty sucky.’ I muttered.
I was being honest though, I was 17, and had only had one girlfriend, and that was when I was five, and she dumped me as soon as I gave her my mars bar.
And, Being a complete computer geek, I was pretty severely socially retarded, and I kept to myself, I didn’t have any friends, what so ever, people only talked to me if they needed help with their computer.
Suddenly an idea struck me. I wouldn’t have to work hard on a main character,
A self insert story!
I began to type wildly; my fingers flew over the keys, not even stopping to fix any typo’s. I would fix afterwards, as right now I needed to get this idea down while I had it.
I was going to write a self insert romance!
Now if only I had some romance experience.
--
I ran down the street, jumping over any obstacle that was in my way. I looked at my watch quickly.
“F**k it, I’m really late!” I cursed as the clock hit the half-nine mark.
A stone gray building appeared in front of me, as I turned a corner, narrowly avoiding being hit by a car as I jolted across the road.
The school gates were starting to close as I stepped up my pace, making it the gates, just as they slammed shut.
“Mornin’ Colin, cutting it close the day aren’t you?”
“Yeah, yeah, just like every day, I bet you shut those gates just when you see me, to see if you can catch me out one day.” I panted, trying not to show how tired I was.
The guard – named Earl – “Ha ha. You’d better get to class now, good luck.” He smiled, as I headed off towards the building.
I managed to make it into biology without meeting any hall monitors. Geeks.
Then, after spending most of biology, burning stuff on the Bunsen burner, while ignoring the teacher explaining how to do a certain experiment, a teacher entered the room.
Her name was Mrs. Copperfield, and I think she may have been a guidance councilor, but she did pretty much anything and everything, including covering classes
.
“Right class, you have a new student, she’s just moved here, her name is…
Back to reality, I needed a female character.
I mused, chewing on my pencil. This would be hard, I couldn’t think of an appropriate personality for my main character.

2 hours later
--
I groaned in frustration, and ran a hand through my hair.
I had my main character… though I was aiming for a self insert, he didn’t act like me, he was late, didn’t pay attention in class, and so far, he wasn’t nuts about computers like I was.
And when I imagined him, he didn’t look like me, well, actually he did, he had the same floppy brown hair, and green eyes, but, I couldn’t imagine him with my skin problems, my glasses, or being 6”7, he was more like 6”2, and a little bit stockier built, so I didn’t look like some sort of twig.
He did share my name though, and was slightly like me, but, well, better he was more attractive, less Geeky anything I didn’t like about myself I fixed, then I gave him a few faults, to prevent him being to perfect.
He had a rather large ego.
I smiled in satisfaction; I had a main character… now I just needed a secondary character.
--
So... you see what I mean when i said that the first chapter dosn't connect to PJO, but I needed to put it in, as character building, and setting the scene.
I'll put up chapter two soon.
Any comments are appreciated,
